Power over Ethernet

The DGS-1008MP features eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that support the IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard, enabling these ports to supply up to 30 W of power to connected devices for a total PoE power budget of 125 W. This allows compatible devices to be connected without requiring an additional power supply, saving on cabling and allowing devices to be installed in locations without immediate access to power outlets.

The switches also automatically detect cable length and can reduce transmission power usage for shorter cables.
